  1. Leaf411(https://leaf411.org/) is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates a FREE cannabis nurse hotline. In this time of great need, Leaf411 is immediately offering our hotline nursing services to help address Coloradoans’ questions about COVID-19 as well as cannabis.

Calling a nurse-line can give you more information about what to do next. A nurse can help you decide when to contact your doctor or visit a health care facility, understand your medications, or give you more information about preventative care. Our Registered Nurses are capable of triaging calls and directing callers to the appropriate response team if necessary. We are experienced at providing reassurance, separating fact from fiction, and providing medically-sound information. Our nurses’ backgrounds extend far beyond cannabis nursing, with clinical and hospital experience.

Everyone is scared and looking for answers. Our cannabis nurses are already getting calls about the possible transmission of COVID-19 via the marijuana products being purchased at dispensaries. We have been asked by seniors whether they can catch the virus from the products they’ve purchased (both the products and the packaging). We expect these types of calls to increase.

In response, we are reassuring callers that we are suggesting to Colorado dispensaries that they institute Preparedness Plans to protect their customers’ and employees’ health and safety. These plans, developed with our medical team’s guidance, are designed to reduce risk of potential COVID-19 spread through their stores.

To support the cannabis industry, Leaf411 is already helping our Colorado dispensary members develop and implement Preparedness Plans. For a limited time, we are making the following services available to all non-member dispensaries to show solidarity in this time of need.

Please reach out to me if you would like to me if you would like to learn more.

    Be safe everyone,

  2. Most dispensaries in the Denver Metro are curbside pickup only. A lot of shops are utilizing online ordering or phone to limit or eliminate customer traffic. At some places Medical patients are allowed into stores.
A few irresponsible ones are going along with the minimum CDC guidelines, letting people inclusive of social distancing.
One awesome shop started limiting ppl contact, took all items out of their waiting room, two weeks ago, they seem to understand the severity of the situation and importance of customer health. A week later before any government decree, they went to online ordering, one person in the pickup area, wait in your car until it’s your turn.
Let’s all be safe, clean hands, stay lifted. And be mindful of infecting others. And considering a lot of medical marijuana patience have immune deficiencies or underlying health issues, so please do your part. PREACH. Butt no joke

“Here at the Massachusetts Patient Advocacy Alliance, we take Patient Safety and Healthcare very seriously. Since the first announcements of the COVID-19 outbreak, MPAA Staff & Volunteers have been following all communications from our government’s officials and relating communications that our Medical Cannabis System is an “essential service” for Registered Patients.

***Please be aware we expect this situation to remain fluid and updates from our local Massachusetts government and our Federal government may continue to change. MPAA will do our best to continue updating as the situation changes.

As a Patient & Caregiver, you have options. Please seek Online Ordering & Expanded Delivery Services from Licensed MTCs – MPAA has updated our list of Dispensaries to include whether home delivery is available: https://www.compassionforpatients.com/medicine

***Please call ahead to your local MTC first if you are unsure about current available services.

We will be updating our Dispensary Page in the coming days with whether ordering ahead is also possible and other important information to patients who seek safe access during this crisis.

Relevant procedures include how establishments manage lines and queues, the utilization of mobile or order-ahead features that may reduce the risk of exposure, considering appointment-only operations, and the increased frequency of cleaning and sterilization efforts. Similarly, where applicable, Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers that offer patient delivery may consider the promotion and geographic expansion of their service and remind patients of the ability to acquire up to a 60-day supply.”

“Certifying health care providers are reminded that, pursuant to 935 CMR 501.010, patient renewal certifications may be submitted after telephonic consultation, so long as a clinical visit has occurred within the past year.”

  9. In New Mexico we have one producer in Albuquerque making all the patients and caregivers stay in the check in waiting room that is 10 x 10 and not allowing them into the dispensary. This is basically violating every single CDC COVID 19 guideline, when I was in there an hour ago a 70 yr old man was so upset about this he was crying…
We may need guidelines for producers so this does not happen and cause state to close dispensaries.
